Why I Choose To Take The Road Less Travelled

The Randomness Of Letting The Roads Choose The Route

When you first start riding, you’ll be bombarded with a flurry of routes to try on by your fellow riders. The routes that have been tried and tested over and over. Routes that are ‘right’ for you or your bike.

It might be tempting to choose what everyone has done, especially if it seemed to work for them. But is that what truly works for you?

Riding is a very personal experience to me. It is an experience through my surroundings, getting into shape physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. And since I don’t usually follow the typical route, I am more connected to myself and the journey. Not every chance is rewarded though. A lot of times, these detours leave me wondering why I didn’t take that typical route.

But it does make you realise one thing, one unexpected turn has the potential to change everything.

It's only by trying new things, pushing your limits, doing things differently that you can truly change yourself and come out stronger.
